Common questions
How high does a glass pool fence have to be in Queensland?
The QBCC pool fences page gives a minimum fence height of 1200mm, measured from finished ground level.
Do I need a pool safety certificate to sell my house?
If you are selling a property with a pool and there is no current pool safety certificate, the QBCC says you must lodge a Form 36 (notice of no pool safety certificate), and the buyer has 90 days after settlement to get one.
Does a Form 36 mean my fence is exempt from the rules?
No. The QBCC states that a Form 36 is not an exemption from complying with the requirements of the pool safety standard.
